About Me
My name is Abby Partridge and I am a sophomore at the Awty International School in Houston, TX. Additionally, I am a Girl Scout and for my Girl Scout Gold Award, I decided to address the need of recycling.
More about my Girl Scout Gold Award.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest honor that a Girl Scout can achieve. For my project, I conducted a recycling fair at a non-profit school for underprivileged students in the third ward of Houston, as well as implemented a recycling pick up service. I made a five minute powerpoint presentation in front of the students addressing the need to recycle. After that, I conducted a recycling fair in which the students toured a multitude of volunteer-made posters containing more information about recycling. Most of the students there were unaware about recycling, so my project served as exposure to the atrocities that human kind is committing against the environment.
